Animo, Education tool

A stimulative tool for kids to go beyond their difficulties

School failure, demotivation, or lack of interest in schools, have to be solved with imagination. Today more than ever we need to stimulate and work on creativity in education, not only to change the strict teaching structures, but also to offer imaginative tools to new generations with low resources.

Animo

Utani and deardesign worked together to create Animo, developing an educational and fresh tool with a new methodology, which understands the reality of the 21st century and meets all the recreational and pedagogical requirements.

A new tool designed as an educational game for educators and students, with or without learning problems. It turns the regular concepts given at the classroom into audiovisual animations, giving them soul thanks to the possibility of drawing, cutting out, creating stories, interacting with buttons etc.

Animo is also a useful tool for sensory stimulation, boosting creativity, and personal development for people who have learning and mental health difficulties. It is also a direct way of communication between patients and specialists. Thanks to Animo, its users have an additional way to express themselves, and this helps to their therapists and teachers to get to conclusions on their behaviour patterns.

Animo pretends to be a stimulating alternative at the level of fun of how education should be in the 21st Century. It challenges the lack of imagination of new generations of children and young people who are used to follow predefined patterns in video games and therefore out of making any imagination effort.

In addition to the trigger of imagination through the game, educational values can also be worked through understanding, not only by the explanation given at the classroom. Many concepts of today’s society can be taught via Animo.

Animo’s new learning skills are multiple and conceived within interactive work strategies. Considering that one of the best ways to learn is playing and getting familiar with new digital technologies, Animo fulfils both characteristics and speaks the same language of the young ones.
