Born in Barcelona. Degree in Industrial Design at ELISAVA in 1997.

Spent his first years working for lighting brands and designing furniture for fashion firms such as Mango, Nike or Burberry.

In 2005 founded deardesign studio and since then has leaded design projects worldwide in different countries like United Kingdom, Korea, Mali, Russia, Norway, Colombia, France, Italy or Taiwan.

Some of his highlighted projects and customers are Moritz Concept Store (with Jean Nouvel), Canòdrom Creative Research Park for the City Council of Barcelona, Custo stores, EatOut restaurants at airports, UPF School of Management and Mobile World Capital Barcelona.

In 2013, he co-founded the company Emokio, developer of technology solutions for kids.

Awarded with an ADI-FAD student recognition in 1997, he has been recently recognised with the German Design Award 2018 (Check his complete award list).

He is member of the BCD Barcelona Design Center Cloister and has also taught at IED Barcelona (Instituto Europeo di Design) and given lectures at design events. He has also represented the city of Barcelona together with other design entities at Beijing, Tokyo and Istanbul.

Degree in Building Engineering from EUP Barcelona. From 1999 until 2002 she worked in different studios like Torres&Torres. In 2002 she founded Interiorisme Baula, as Head of Projects until 2010, where she worked for Adolfo Dominguez amongst others. In 2012 she collaborated in the start-up company Emokio, an Edtech Company which offers innovative educational solutions. Currently she works at deardesign as Project Manager.

Paul Serizay

Architect

Degree and Masters in Architecture by the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture of Paris in 2013. In 2014 studied his second Masters in Architecture at the University of Cincinatti. Has been recognised by the MoMA with ICFF Award for Excellence in Design and has collaborated in well-known architecture studios such as Lacaton & Vassal, NEM Architectes and Laurent Deroo.

Aya Ulan

Industrial Designer

The facts of her biography influenced the formation of a multifaceted approach to solving design problems, combining the eastern mentality and western education. While pursuing the industrial design engineering and product development degree from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Aya has been actively involved in international research project  Circular Design: Learning for Innovative Design for Sustainability. She has also co-founded and managed a non-profit university organization MESDI with an aim to promote design through activities, conferences and workshops, such as Vilanova Design Day, II Foro Universidad, Diseño y Empresa and El Prisma del Diseño as part of Barcelona Design Week 2018.

Marine Budin

Project Adviser

Degree in History of Art at Lyon II and l’École du Louvres, she coordinated the first Masters in Advanced Architecture (IAAC) in Barcelona in 2001. She founded Elclimamola in 2004, an agency specialised in artistic projects, scenic arts production and consultancy for creators. Recently she joined deardesign to lead the Project Advisory area.

Carles Sanz

Digital CTO

15 years of experience developing and managing technology projects. Has worked in the technology and digital consulting area of advertising agencies such Ogilvy or Saatchi & Saatchi, applying innovation to the education and health sectors. Co-founder of Emokio, an Edutech company that offers innovative educational solutions in the classroom, designed for group participation in the learning process.

Albert Canals

Media & Graphic Designer

Co-founder of graphic design studio Gregor Samsa. Developed the first web applications for clients like the Government of Catalonia, T-Systems or Honda. In 2007 founded Abast, result of his evolution as a web designer working for the Primavera Sound, BCN Institute Science Technology, or Fundació La Pedrera. In 2010 he also founded Túrmix, an educational innovation company, offering consultancy services in the field of robotics and programming for the educational world.
