Ignasi studied industrial design in Elisava in Barcelona, awarded with a special mention to ADI-FAD students in 1997 and starts to work on designing furniture for fashion brands such as Mango, Nike and Burberry.
Ignasi co-founded deardesign in 2005 in Barcelona, a studio focused on interior design and specialized in retail, with which he implemented national and international projects in countries such as the United Kingdom, Korea, Mali, Russia, Norway, Colombia, Chile, France, Italy or Taiwan.
Ignasi has always be concerned to provide sustainable solutions to the production processes. In this context he met Cécile Imbert from French company FERN based in Paris in 2017, with whom the opportunity to start a new step comes out. Using his experience to offer a new eco-design service for companies he implemented an Eco-design process in order to reduce impacts on the environment. Currently he is coordinating, with his team, an in-house methodology around eco-responsibility and circular design to be able to apply these innovative solutions to any sector and to be prepared to respond to new Environmental legislation.
Main projects to highlight designed by Ignasi and his team are the Eco-designed offices for Mansartis (Place Vendôme, Paris in 2020), and previously the headquarters of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, the Canòdrom Parc de Recerca Creativa for the Barcelona City Council, educational spaces for the UPF Barcelona School of Management (German Design Award 2018), the Moritz Concept Store, the Custo stores, Munich, restaurants in airports for the EatOut group company.
He is a member of the faculty of the BCD Barcelona Center de Disseny and has also taught at IED Barcelona (Instituto Europe di Design), workshops at ELISAVA and conferences at design workshops. He has also been part of the delegations representing the city of Barcelona along with other creators at the Design Week in Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Istanbul.
